Humanitarian organizations have been informally experimenting with generative AI, driven more by austerity than ambition, which has resulted in patchy governance and siloed efficiencies.  
 
NetHope and Elrha's Advancing Responsible AI Adoption project, developed with TUM Think Tank's Civic Machines Lab, aims to change this by identifying barriers to scale and the collective action needed to move the sector forward.
